Dear Presidents and Legislative Contacts,

LEGISLATION

  • HB 364: relative to notice required concerning employment of a retired member of the New Hampshire retirement system of the limitations on part-time employment.
    • A public hearing was held on Wednesday at 9:20 before the Senate ED&A committee
      • Members of the NH Retirement Security Coalition testified in favor of the bill
      • No executive session has been scheduled
  • SB 81: authorizing phlebotomists to withdraw blood for alcohol concentration tests.
    • A public hearing was held on Tuesday at 10:00am before the House Criminal Justice committee. The bill as originally presented to the Senate allowed EMS to withdraw blood for alcohol concentration tests, as well as phlebotomists. The department of safety put an amendment in to take EMS out of the bill, and that’s how it passed in the Senate. Now that it is in the house, we are watching it to make sure EMS stays out of the bill.
      • No executive session has been scheduled
  • SB 166: relative to critical incident stress management and crisis intervention services.
    • A public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday April 17that 3:00pm before the House Health and Human Services and Elderly Affairs committee. This is a very important bill that came out of the Senate the way we wanted. We will be working hard to make sure this bill passes in the House and heads to the governor’s office.

HB 123: “fireman’s rule”: was heard in the Senate, but has yet to have an executive session. The PFFNH supports what came out of the house.

SB 152: Relative to video lottery and table gaming. Speaker Norelli has recently announced the formation of a special joint committee made up of all members of the Finance and Ways & Means committees (see this announcement from the Speaker's office for full details). This special committee will hear the bill on Tuesday, April 16that 9:30 in Representatives Hall. As you know the PFFNH fully supports this bill. If you are interested in testifying on behalf of this bill, or just coming to the hearing, please let me know.

Attached you will find the list of Representatives who make up this super committee. If they are your representative, please reach out to them. If you would like talking points on this bill, please let me know and I’ll be happy to provide you with any information you may need.
