Dear Presidents and Legislative Contacts,

LEGISLATION
• As of today we are closely tracking 10 bills, and keeping an eye on some other smaller ones:
o Senate

? HB 178: relative to public employer collective bargaining agreements.
? HB 123: relative to the limitation of liability for negligence regarding public safety officers.
? HB 124: relative to the determination of gainful occupation for a group II member receiving an accidental disability retirement allowance from the retirement system.
• A hearing was held in Senate ED&A on Wednesday
• President Lang testified
• There was no executive session
? HB 342: relative to reporting of compensation paid to retired members of the retirement system.
• A hearing was held in Senate ED&A on Wednesday
• President Lang testified

? HB 364: relative to notice required concerning employment of a retired member of the New Hampshire retirement system of the limitations on part-time employment.
• A public hearing is scheduled for Senate ED&A on Wednesday at 9:20am in SH Rm 100
o House
? SB 81: authorizing phlebotomists to withdraw blood for alcohol concentration tests.
? SB 152: relative to video lottery and table gaming.
? SB 166: relative to critical incident stress management and crisis intervention services.
• We are also keeping a close eye on the budget. On Wednesday the House budget passed the House, and now moves on to the Senate where it will likely be drastically changed. The House budget did not include gambling. We will be tracking the budget until the process is finished at the end of June.
PAC

• We held two very successful PAC events last week in conjunction with the film Burn in Hooksett.
• If you haven’t seen it yet, keep an eye out for the newest rankings in our PAC PICK OFF competition where we are challenging ALL locals to be the one who has the most members who give to PAC on a regular basis.
• The rankings have changed…so stay tuned!

REMINDERS
• This year the New England First Amendment Coalition has chosen to honor President Lang with the Citizen Right to Know Award for his work on making the Local Government Center more transparent. The award ceremony will be held on April 10th at 12:30 at the Seaport Boston Hotel. More information can be found on the website.
• Please let me know if you would like President Lang, Secretary-Treasurer McQuillen, Kayla, or myself at any of your upcoming union meetings to discuss local business. We are always happy to attend these.
